Latest update on Jakub Vrana isn't encouraging

He remains out of action.

The Detroit Red Wings were without forward Jakub Vrana during Monday night's overtime loss at Little Caesars Arena against the Los Angeles Kings, as he was dealing with an off-ice personal issue. But for fans hoping to see him back in the lineup in short order, they'll have to continue to wait.

Vrana was once again absent from Tuesday morning's practice, and according to head coach Derek Lalonde, he doesn't have a time frame for his return. Fans also noticed that his name was removed from the active roster on the team's official website, though it's a common practice for players not currently active.

“Still out, personal reasons, that’s all I’ve been told, so I don’t have a time frame," Lalonde explained.

The Red Wings are already without forward Tyler Bertuzzi, who will be absent for the next four to six weeks after suffering a hand injury during Saturday night's win over the New Jersey Devils. Moments after after Bertuzzi left the ice, Vrana sniped home his first goal of the season:

The Red Wings are next in action in the Windy City at United Center against the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night.
