Both sides have different figures in mind.

Among the many acquisitions that Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman has made since re-arriving in the Motor City in 2019 are several former members of the St. Louis Blues. The likes of Robby Fabbri, Oskar Sundqvist, David Perron, Ville Husso, and Jake Walman are all now members of the Red Wings after having previously played in the shadow of the Gateway Arch.

Walman, a defenseman who was brought aboard along with Sundqvist at the 2022 NHL Trade Deadline, has filed for salary arbitration, and the figures for both sides have been released. Walman is seeking a deal worth $1.7 million, while the Red Wings are willing to give a two-way deal that would see him earn $775,000 at the NHL level and $225,000 at the AHL level:

The Toronto native has skated in a total of 76 NHL games, scoring four goals with eight assists. Following his acquisition last season by Detroit, he suited up in 19 games, registering four assists.
