The future of the Detroit Red Wings has improved vastly under the stewardship of general manger Steve Yzerman, who took over from the overly stale Ken Holland in 2019. And not only has Yzerman worked on bringing aboard established NHL talent on the current roster, but also has the cupboard fully stocked with future stars that fans will be able to get a glimpse of in the near future. 

The World Junior Championships are currently ongoing, and several future Red Wings players are representing their respective countries. Michigan native Carter Mazur, who was drafted 70th overall in 2021, helped Team USA to a blowout victory over Switzerland by scoring twice and adding an assist in the 7-1 triumph. 

Meanwhile, blue liner Simon Edvinsson, who stands a great chance of making Detroit's roster this season, demonstrated his offensive flair with an absolute rocket of a slapper to give Team Sweden the lead over Austria earlier today:
