Steve Yzerman with a major assist to the Detroit Tigers

A man of many talents!

Red Wings Feed

There's certainly no denying that Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman is among the elite when it comes to his craft, of which there are only 32 positions on earth. And when it comes to fan confidence in his ability to do the job, it's no surprise to see him ranked nearly at the very top of the list.

But how about lending an assist to a fellow Detroit sports franchise? The Detroit Tigers, who have been in perpetual rebuild mode since 2017, recently hired former San Francisco Giants GM Scott Harris as their new President of Baseball Operations. And according to the Tigers, it was Yzerman who played a role in bringing Harris aboard to the Motor City.

Per WXYZ Detroit sports reporter Brad Galli:

"Steve Yzerman was among the people Chris Ilitch thanked in the search for a new Tigers president of baseball operations," he wrote on Twitter. "Scott Harris said he’s really impressed with Steve Yzerman. They actually met years ago when Yzerman visited a Cubs game."

What can't Yzerman do?
