The Detroit Red Wings are in the midst of Day 2 of Training Camp at Center ICE Arena in Traverse City, Mich., but one notable member of the team's top line was absent from the ice today.
Forward Tyler Bertuzzi was missing from the on-ice session, and according to head coach Derek Lalonde, he'll be considered day to day in regards to his health status. Per Detroit Free Press beat writer Helene St. James on Twitter:
"Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde said "something flared up" with Tyler Bertuzzi that prevented him from practicing Friday, not much of an update available, considered 'day-to-day' (like all of us)."
Last season, Bertuzzi ranked second on the team in both goals and points (30G, 32P) in 68 games played. He's also under contract through next season with a cap hit of $4.75 million.
